What the source reports
93,293 people received Home Office asylum support at 30 June 2026: 16,021 in hotel accommodation, 73,068 in non-hotel accommodation and 4,204 receiving subsistence only. The bulletin refers to Asy_D09.
Definition and limits
Support can include accommodation, subsistence payments or both. These are end-of-period counts, not everybody supported during the quarter. Support recipients are not equivalent to the initial-decision queue or all asylum applicants.
Verification
The national total and all three accommodation subtotals were cross-checked against our aggregation of the local-authority Asy_D11 workbook. They reconcile exactly.
